The created object symbolizes Cloud Cuckoo Land, referencing The Birds by Aristophanes. Positioned above the performer’s head like a white cloud, it evokes an idealized, utopian state in which everything appears perfect. The performance investigates the relationship between scenography and the performer, illustrating how the stage environment can function as an active component of choreography rather than a passive backdrop.

The work narrates the story of a perfectionist who inhabits an imagined, ideal world and continually strives to construct a flawless life. Over the course of the performance, the suspended object gradually descends, symbolizing how the pursuit of perfection and the dominance of dreams can become oppressive. This visual metaphor manifests physically, as the descending form constrains the dancer’s movement and presses her toward the floor.

Contemporary dance elements are employed to critique perfectionism. In contrast to other dance genres that may idealize form and movement, contemporary dance exposes reality as it is—imperfect, fluid, and human. Through this opposition, the choreography reveals the tension between performer and set, underscoring the conflict between idealism and reality at the heart of the performance.
